Righetti softball advances while others lose in second round

The Righetti softball team won 6-2 at Grand Terrace to advance to the third round of the Division-3 playoffs. The Warriors are now 24-7 on the season, they will play at California High School in Whittier on Thursday in the Quarterfinals. California High is 26-4 and like Righetti won its League Championship.

Nipomo lost it's second round game in Division-5. The Titans dropped a 5-1 game at Silverado. Nipomo finishes the season with a 19-5 record, the Titans were second in the Los Padres League standings.

Morro Bay lost at home, 11-9 in its second round game against Montebello. Down 10-3 in the bottom of the sixth inning, the Pirates rallied for six runs in the inning to pull within 10-9 but the comeback came up short. Morro Bay won a Wild Card and first round game on the road to get to the second round. The Pirates finish the season 12-16.

Orcutt Academy also lost at home. The Spartans allowed 17 hits in a 6-3 loss to Crossroads Christian. Orcutt Academy ends the season with a 20-5 record.

Coast Union lost on the road against Faith Baptist. The Broncos lost 7-3 to finish the season 15-5.
