Righetti students selling art to fight cancer

Students at Righetti High School in Santa Maria are holding an art show Monday and Tuesday night to help the fight against cancer.

More than 700 pieces of student art will be on display at the school. The show includes all types of art including paintings, drawings, and ceramics. The students hope to sell their work to raise money for "Relay for Life."

The pieces range in price from $7-$500.

"It's vital that our students no matter what department they're in, no matter what their specialty is, that they know that they have the power to help others," said Righetti Art Teacher Leanne Del Rio.

The artwork will be on display until 8 p.m. Monday night and from 6-8 Tuesday night inside the Righetti High School Gym.
