Righetti teacher resigns after being accused of sexting

The Santa Maria Joint Union High School District says Michelle Hill has resigned from her teaching position at Righetti High School. Hill was accused last month of sending sexually explicit text messages to at least one student. She taught biology at Righetti High School for the past couple years and picked up her things last Wednesday.

District leaders have accepted her resignation. They say she is no longer at Righetti or any other school in the district.

Hill has not returned our calls for comment.
