Righetti water polo beats SLO 24-6 to claim sole possession of first

The quick transition offense proved to be too much for the Tigers as the Righetti High water polo team routed San Luis Obispo 24-6 in a Pac 7 League game on Tuesday afternoon.

The Warriors improved to 5-0 in league and 13-5 overall. The Tigers fell to 4-1 in league play.

Righetti scored the first 3 goals of the game thanks to one from Keanu Martinez and two from Devon Tomooka. The Tigers got on the board thanks to a goal from about 5 meters out from Nick Eaton, but the Warriors went on a 10-0 run to build a commanding halftime lead.

Jeremy Grden led the Warriors with 4 goals.

Righetti regained the #1 spot this week in the CIF-Southern Section Division 4 Coaches Poll. The Warriors host St. Joseph next Tuesday in their final league games of the regular season. The Pac 7 has installed a tournament to determine the league champion. The first round is October 31 with the finals on November 2.
