Be prepared for delays if you're driving near Foxenwood Lane and Union Valley Parkway.
Crews are reconstructing the intersection at Foxenwood lane to create a four-way stop. It's part of Phase one of the efforts to connect Highway 135 to just west of Foxenwood. Phase two goes all the way to Blosser Road. City engineers say the four-lane parkway will eventually connect to Highway 101.
"It's gonna take a lot of the burden off Lakeview and Clark avenue where a lot of the circulation for the Orcutt area will be able to utilize this road to get to the freeway," said Rodger Olds, a senior civil engineer with the city of Santa Maria.
Crews say the intersection at Foxenwood should be completed in the next few weeks.
