Many questions remain tonight after a driver discovers a body on the side of the road in Nipomo.
The body of an Hispanic man was found near the intersection of Bonita School Road and Division Street around 6:30 this morning.
On the ground and in the air, investigators are searching for clues to why a body was found just after 6:30 Monday morning in Nipomo.
"We probably have at this point 20 volunteers with search and rescue and another five or six volunteer patrol folks," said Commander Brian Hascall with the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Department.
Detectives say someone driving by discovered the body of an Hispanic man on the side of Bonita School Road. It was found near a broccoli field, but so far, that's all detectives are saying.
Authorities are calling the death suspicious and quickly shut down the street.
"We're just having to reroute traffic around through Guadalupe and then back up Highway 166," Hascall said.
Volunteer crews combed the crime scene, placing evidence markers wherever they saw something. . . anything that might solve this roadside mystery.
Bonita School Road is back open. Detectives and forensic experts will now analyze the evidence collected at the scene.
