Rope training exercise for firefighters at the Clark Center

The Clark Center in Arroyo Grande wasn't home to a show Wednesday morning, instead, Five Cities Firefighters were training for an emergency.

Firefighters practiced their rescue skills using ropes. They rappelled and climbed up to the scaffolding that's more than 40 ft above the ground.

Crews say the industrial environment offers them a good variety of challenges.

The training prepares them for incidents like a cliff-side rescue, or if someone is trapped inside a building. Wednesday's training is part of a week-long course.
