The Mission Prep and Nipomo basketball teams split their non-league games on Wednesday. The Mission boys crushed the Titans 57-12, while the Titan girls edged Mission 33-28.
The Mission boys sprinted out to a 17-2 lead after the first quarter and led 36-8 at halftime. Ian Stake led the Royals with 9 points. Quinton Adlesh, Andy Rowley, Tyler Baty and Brandon Jones each had 8 points for Mission.
Kaileb Mendez led the Titans with 6 points. Nipomo dropped to 1-16 on the season. The Royals improved to 10-6.
In Nipomo, the Titan girls outscored Mission 11-8 in the third quarter to take a 23-20 lead into the fourth quarter. Taylor Nevitt led the Titans with 11 points in the victory and Peyton Maas added 6 more. Connor Storlie led the Royals with 12 points.
