SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - A man has died after being shot by Sacramento police officers during a struggle for control of a gun.
Police Sgt. Andrew Pettit said two officers stopped two men in the city's Meadowview area Saturday when they saw the butt of gun sticking out from one of the men's shirts.
Pettit said one of the officers and the man with the weapon both reached for the gun and began to struggle. During the tussle, the other officer drew his weapon and fired several shots, killing the man.
The Sacramento Bee reports (http://bit.ly/OkgiuY ) that police detained the other man, who was not armed.
