Safety tips for Toyota drivers

With millions of Toyota vehicles recalled due to safety concerns over sudden acceleration, engineering experts at Consumer Reports do have advice to keep you safe should you run into acceleration problems.
1) Press hard on the brake.
2) Shift into neutral. The car will come to a stop and the engine will rev.
3) Once the car stops, shut off the engine.
Consumers Reports recommends practicing these steps in a safe location.
Toyota said Monday dealers should get parts to fix the gas pedal problem by the end of the week. The federal government is also launching its own investigation into Toyota's acceleration issues.
