The Salvation Army in Santa Maria cooked up a non traditional Christmas meal on Friday.
Needy families were invited to enjoy ribs, chicken, beans and garlic bread. The organization usually serves up more traditional Christmas food like a Christmas ham, but this year, a barbeque pit was donated to cook the meal.
Just under 300 people enjoyed the early Christmas meal. The annual event is the last of a string of holiday events the Salvation Army holds each year.
