Travel along San Fernando Road in Atascadero should be a bit easier. The Atascadero City Council says road surface rehabilitation for the city-maintained section of San Fernando from Graves Creek to Balboa Road is done.
The project included minor drainage and road shoulder improvements, placement of an initial asphalt leveling course, installation of a paving fabric to help reduce future road surface cracking and a final asphalt overlay. In addition, asphalt paving and road base material were backfilled along the road shoulders.
The City awarded the project to CalPortland Construction in the amount of $422,218.48. City leaders say the project was completed on-time and under budget.
