SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) - San Jose fire officials say a 56-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with a series of arson fires that have been set since late last month.
KTVU-reports (http://bit.ly/TPCLHO ) the woman was taken into custody Saturday night after fire investigators staking out an area where a string of at least ten fires started since Sept. 26 spotted the woman lighting a fire.
The station says investigators were looking into whether she was responsible for starting the other fires.
San Jose Fire Capt. Mary Gutierrez says the fires in the city's Delna Manor area have set in back or side alleys.
None of the fires spread to the buildings, but fire investigators were concerned because the fires were near large, multi-tenant residential buildings.
The name of the woman arrested has not been released.
