The City of San Luis Obispo is getting two new public transit buses.

The new buses will replace the last two high-floor models, making the entire fleet more accessible to people in wheelchairs.

The buses will also have state-of-the-art safety features.

One will be equipped with luggage racks for use on routes that service the Maxine Lewis Memorial Shelter and the Prado Day Center.

This is to reduce the risk of trips and falls from bags being stored in the main aisles.

You can join the city in celebrating its two newest buses at a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday.

It's at 1:45 p.m. at the Downtown Transit Center.
