A San Luis Obispo man who caught a potential burglar in his home spoke to KSBY News about the incident.
Brian Sinclair, 21, of San Luis Obispo, arrived home to his apartment in the 12-hundred block of Murray Street around 1:00 a.m. Friday, and found someone in his apartment trying to steal his electronics.
"So I went to our neighbor's house and when I walked in our neighbors house we realized that a couch was gone, and so they told me to come back to my house and lock my door, and when I came back the guy was standing there with my computer in hand," Sinclair said. Sinclair said he decided to confront the man himself, while he had the chance.
Sinclair said, "We started to ask him what he was doing and he proceeded to act drunk. And then we got into a little scuffle and he got away."
Sinclair said the suspect ran into a nearby apartment. When San Luis Obispo police officers arrived, they tracked down Adrian Garcia, 20, in a nearby apartment. Garcia was arrested without incident and booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail on $40,000 bail.
Sinclair said he will be locking his doors from now on.
