The San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce is doing something it hasn't done in four decades. It's moving!
For the first time in 42 years, the chamber will move from its current location at the corner of Chorro and Higuera Streets to the Paiarola building at 895 Monterey Street. The Paiarola building is currently occupied Luna Rustica and formerly housed Ann's Clothing Store.
The current location for the Chamber of Commerce will undergo a seismic retrofit next year, and the board of directors decided it was a perfect time to take a closer look at staff and visitors center needs. The directors say they've found a perfect new fit at the Paiarola building.
"The location in the downtown core maintains the Chamber presence close to the Mission and city and county government offices,'' said Russ Levanway, the chamber board chair.
The new location will open its doors sometime early next year.
