An annual report says California is lagging in its tobacco control policies. The American Lung Association Thursday released the State of Tobacco 2012 report.
It grades the federal government and all 50 states on how well they're doing to control tobacco use.
California received an F for tobacco prevention, an A for smokefree air, a D for cigarette taxes, and an F for cessation efforts.
Locally, San Luis Obispo County got an overall D grade.
Santa Barbara County received an overall B grade.
