They say they are prepared and ready to protect your family during a disaster. A disaster relief drill was set up at Camp Roberts on Wednesday. The drill focused on emergency preparation in the event a serious emergency took place at Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant. It's a joint effort in San Luis Obispo County with local and state agencies. They went all out setting up a nurses station, a food area as well as barracks for those who would need shelter. Joe Quiroz is with the San Luis Obispo County American Red Cross. Quiroz said, "This kind of drill keeps you aware that something could happen. You never know when a disaster is going to hit but when it does we're trained to be able to respond to that." Organizers also explained the safe and well list. It's a national web site to help those in a disaster. KSBY News reporter Monica Quintero will show the importance of that list on KSBY News at six o'clock.
