Some big changes are coming to Santa Margarita Lake.
Today the San Luis Obispo Board of Supervisors approved $540,000 in renovations.
The renovations are paid for by a grant from the California Department of Boats and Waterways.
The changes include a solar power installation at the white oak restroom and to remove overhead power lines between the marina and boat launch area.
The fish cleaning station will also be updated and repaving of the marina and white oak boat launch parking lot is also slated as part of the project.
Supervisors say the renovations are necessary because much of the infrastructure at Santa Margarita Lake is 20 to 25 years old.
