The City of San Luis Obispo is now under a hiring freeze. It's all part of a plan to save some cash.
A recent budget review found the city had seen a big drop in revenues. On Tuesday night, city council members took a look at the entire mid-year budget report.
According to City Manager Katie Lichtig, the council approved all of the items on the "Fiscal Health Contingency Plan." Those items include a hiring freeze for the city and limitations on travel and training for city employees. The council also directed staff to develop a comprehensive plan to fill the $1.5 million budget gap.
