San Luis Obispo Police officers have arrested a man for attempted murder after they say he tried to murder his neighbor.
Around midnight on Saturday night, officers responded to a disturbance call at an apartment in the 3300 block of Bullock Lane in San Luis Obispo.
When they arrived, they found 59-year-old Edmund Leo Nungaray near the home of a 46-year-old woman.
They found the woman unconscious inside, and officers immediately detained Nungaray.
Officers performed CPR on the victim and her pulse was re-established by the time paramedics arrived.
She was taken to French Hospital and is in critical condition.
Police say that Nungaray and the victim knew each other and both live in separate apartments in the complex, but are not in a romantic relationship.
Nagray was booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail.
His bail is set at $500,000.
