Three members of the San Luis Obispo Police Department have new ranks.

The department held a promotions ceremony Wednesday afternoon at City Hall.

Lieutenant Keith Storton moved to the rank of captain. He's been with the department for 20 years.

Capt. Storton told KSBY News, "I think we're a very progressive agency. We have a lot of great people working for us, very dedicated work group, and we really have directed ourselves towards serving the needs of the San Luis Obispo community."

Also promoted to new ranks: Sergeant John Bledsoe to lieutenant and Officer Chad Pfarr is now a sergeant.
