San Luis Obispo Police are looking for a suspect that stole a LIDAR from a pouch located on the police motorcycle.
It happened after the police were called out to 55 Stenner Street on Sunday at 1:40 a.m. on report of several people involved in a physical fight. While police investigated the area a LIDAR was stolen from one of the unattended motorcycles.
LIDARs are hand-held units used by law enforcement officer for speed enforcement. LIDARs are manufactured by Laser Technologies and possession of this unit is a felony for unauthorized persons.
Anyone with information about this theft is encouraged to contact the San Luis Obispo Police Department or Crime Stoppers.
