San Luis Obispo's police chief is set to retire at the end of the year.

The San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce says Police Chief Deborah Linden announced her retirement plans Wednesday morning.

Linden has served at the city's police chief since January 2003.

Linden told the Chamber that she plans to stay in the area for her retirement and continue working with local community organizations.

A national recruitment for the next city police chief is expected to begin soon.
