The San Luis Obispo Symphony is celebrating its 30th birthday and the arrival of its new mascot this weekend.
In honor of the major milestones, the symphony held its annual Pops by the Sea concert Sunday in Avila Beach.
Guests could enjoy a raffle, baton auction, food, wine, and plenty of music. They also had the chance to meet POPStar, the new mascot.
Organizers say since the symphony was founded, it has been hugely community-based.
"All the members of the orchestra are from this community, and they are people that you see on the street. They're teaching your kids how to play music. They're taking care of your car. They're your dentist, your lawyer," said Jim Black, the Symphony's Executive Director.
If you missed Sunday's concert, there are still plenty of opportunities to catch a show. The concert season officially kicks off on October 5th.
