San Luis Obispo to have a drive-through "restaurant" for one day this week.

Who says San Luis Obispo doesn't have drive-through restaurants? It will on Wednesday, all part of a fundraising campaign to help people have water in other parts of the world.

It's put on by Cannon's Well Worth it Campaign. They put on a Drive Thru BBQ Dinner Wednesday from 4-6 p.m. and today is the final day to buy your tickets.

"As engineers, planners and surveyors, we got into this industry to build things and make a difference in the world." say organizers on the SLO Chamber's website. "To affect lives on a global scale requires a different level of effort. Knowing that millions of people live without water - a basic necessity and something we take for granted - is mind-blowing."

The Well Worth It campaign began in November of 2010.more than $10,000 in donations through a grassroots effot. That was enough to build two wells in Ethiopia, through the Charity: Water organization.

"Since that time, we've raised enough to fund the construction of seven wells. Now it's time for our annual BBQ Fundraiser event. Support clean water and get dinner for 4 at the same time!" says the Chamber newsletter promoting the event.
