The San Luis Obispo International Film Festival continues its series of screenings of films shot in San Luis Obispo County this week with "Murder by Numbers," starring Sandra Bullock and Ryan Gosling.
It's the story of two gifted high school students who plan and carry out a "perfect" murder. Then a battle of wits begins with a seasoned homicide detective, played by Bullock.
The tale is based on the real-life murderers, Richard Loeb and Nathan Leopold.
This thriller was filmed in San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay and as the story unfolds, you'll spot lots of local landmarks in various scenes, including the SLO County courthouse, the Fremont Theatre, and the waterfront in Morro Bay.
Bullock's character lives in a houseboat near Montana de Oro and a house near the San Luis Obispo mission and creek.
Scores of locals worked as cast and crew members and if you were one of them, you're invited to attend the screening to share your stories.
The show is Saturday afternoon at the Bay Theatre in Morro Bay.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students, and $5 at the door for anyone who worked in the movie.
