The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office is looking for some people who live in the northern portion of the county to be a part of a citizen's academy.
There are just 20 spots available for the class that starts September 3 in solvang.
During the seven week class people will learn how the Sheriff's Office operates. They will also get to tour the jail, the county court house, and practice at an indoor shooting range.
