UPDATE- The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office says, thanks to help from multiple law enforcement agencies, two 8 year old girls have been found and reunited with their families.
Deputies say the two girls were playing at Cabrillo High School while one of the girl's brother was at football practice, and walked away.
The two girls are cousins, and their grandfather noticed they were missing when practice was over.
He called police, and the search began.
The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office sent out a reverse 911 call to people in the community to come help in the search.
With the help of Sheriff's Department K9 units, the girls were traced to an area near the school that is covered in thick brush.
The girls were found after several hours of searching near a pond.
The girls told officers they tried to follow a trail along the pond, but got lost in the brush.
Deputies tells us they are safe, and back at home with their families.
