The Santa Barbara County Fire Department is using Daylight Saving Time as a reminder to change the batteries in your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors.
It's their "Change Your Clock, Change Your Battery" campaign.
Officials say the peak time for home fire fatalities is between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
Maintaining your fire alarms is easy and can save lives.
