The new deputies are Adam Alegria, Tyler Manley, Aaron Kanes, Derek Spears, and Cameron Ferrell.
They went through more than 800 hours of training on topics including firearms, emergency vehicle operation, chemical agents, scenarios, report writing, and written exams.
Tyler Manley was also named Valedictorian and top for fitness. Adam Alegria was chosen as the class Sergeant, and he was recognized as top driver and top report driver. Overall, all five new deputies ranked in the top six in the academy class.
The new deputies have two more weeks of in-house training before they start their new careers.
