Santa Barbara Fire Department quickly put out a vegetation fire burning in Santa Barbara

The Santa Barbara County Fire Department responded to a vegetation fire in the 1400 block of North San Marcos Rd at about 12:45 Thursday afternoon.

When firefighters arrived on scene they found a grass fire burning.

At around 1:30 p.m. firefighters had the fire 90%. However firefighter were unable completely contain the fire until the live downed power lines in the area were shit down by Southern California Edison.

The fire was contained by 2:05 p.m. Firefighter will remain on scene for a few more hours mopping up the
fire.

There were no structures threatened.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
