A 51-year-old Santa Barbara man died in the hospital after police say he resisted arrest.
Santa Barbara Police say they needed several officers to arrest Lawrence Bauman last weekend for battery and resisting an officer.
When they got him to the Santa Barbara County Jail, he stopped breathing.
He was moved to a hospital but was taken off life support a few days later and died.
The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office is investigating.
The cause of death won't be determined until toxicology results come back.
