Santa Barbara Police investigating car vs. bike crash on Milpas

The Santa Barbara Police Department says a woman is in the hospital with major injuries after she was hit by a car while riding a bike.
Police say the crash happened just after 7:30 Tuesday on the corner of Milpas and Quinientos Streets.
They say the 41 year old woman was riding her bike illegally across the street when she was hit by a 21 year old man driving north on Milpas.
Police say the woman was taken to Cottage Hospital with life-threatening injures. At this time the woman's family has not been notified so they are not releasing her name.
Police say drugs and alcohol are not issues in this case, and the driver was not arrested.
