High school kids in Santa Barbara who are interested in becoming a police officer have a chance to sign up for a special program Thursday.

The SB Police Department is recruiting Explorers.

Police Explorers learn about law enforcement with classes and field training activities designed to prepare them for the police academy.

If you're interested in joining, head to the teen center on Chapala Street at 5:30 p.m.

You must be at least 14 years old to join and have a C-average in school.
