A Santa Barbara teen is biking across America to help the homeless. Fifteen-year-old Thomas Jessop will start his trek in San Francisco August 14, and finish in Washington D.C. 40 days later.

Jessop will ride about 100 miles a day to complete the 3,500-mile trip. He is hoping to raise money and awareness for a National Parking Program that provides permits and designated lots for people living in their vehicles.

"Thousands and thousands of people are losing their homes in this housing crisis and they really have no place to go besides their car," said Jessop.

Jessop completed a similar trip last year. You can track his progress or donate to the cause by visiting the Newslinks section of ksby.com.
