The Santa Maria Public Airport will be the site of a disastrous plane crash, as part of an emergency drill.
At about 10:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, volunteers and emergency responders will put their skills to the test in a disaster exercise, that's meant to simulate a plane crash. Every three years, the Federal Aviation Administration requires airports to conduct the drill to test its emergency plan.
The airport will remain open during the drill.
