The Day of the Dead technically ended Saturday, but that didn't stop people from celebrating Sunday in Santa Maria.
It was the Third Annual Dia de los Muertos Cultural Festival Sunday at the Veterans' Memorial Community Center.
It was a free, fun-filled day of musical entertainment, youth activities, art, and food.
There was even a children's parade, and of course, displays to celebrate the lives of loved ones who have passed away.
"Some people actually will create their alter and have it be more somber, but a lot of the time, it really is meant to be a festive occasion and a way to remember people every year and keep their spirit alive," said Dennis Smitherman, the Recreation Supervisor.
Smitherman says as many as 5,000 people came out for the event.
