Santa Maria CHP Officer Michael Mallory arrested for DUI

The Arroyo Grande Police Department says they've arrested Santa Maria California Highway Patrol Officer Michael Mallory.

37-year-old Mallory was arrested for DUI on Wednesday at 6:30 a.m. accused of colliding with two parked cars.

Based on his symptoms, the Arroyo Grande Police Department initiated a DUI investigation. Officer Mallory did not pass the standardized field sobriety test. He was arrested for driving under influence while on drugs. Arroyo Grande Police could not confirm if it is legal or illegal drugs, as the labs results are pending.

There were no injuries from the accident, and Mallory is currently not in custody. Arroyo Grande Police say he was on his way to teach a class.
