Santa Maria man arrested on child molestation charges after undercover operation

An undercover operation landed a 47-year-old Santa Maria man in jail on child molestation charges.
According to police, a victim under the age of 14 reported being sexually abused over a period of time by Fidel Guerrero Jimenez. The victim met Jimenez at a party.
During the investigation, detectives, acting as the victim, arranged a meeting with Jimenez, with him under the belief they would engage in sexual activity. When Jimenez showed up at the pre-arranged meeting on Wednesday, he was arrested and booked on child molestation charges.
He is in Santa Barbara County Jail on $100,000 bail.
