Santa Maria man enters not guilty pleas to charges he fatally shot his father, wounded his mother

A 40-year-old Santa Maria man accused of fatally shooting his father and critically wounding his mother entered not guilty pleas Tuesday morning.

Brian Reid made his first court appearance in a Santa Maria courtroom.

He is charged with shooting his 73-year-old father, William Reid, and his 66-year-old mother, Pamela Reid, at an Orcutt community park on Labor Day. Pamela Reid has since been released from Marian Regional Medical Center.
