Investigators are looking for a suspect they say stabbed a Santa Maria man inside his truck, causing him to drive into an apartment complex.

Police say 29-year-old Driscoll Johnson is in stable condition after they say he was stabbed just after 10:00 p.m. on the 800 block of Raaberg Way Friday night.

Police say they found a pick-up truck had collided into an apartment building. The building had major damages, and was evacuated after a gas main ruptured.

They say Johnson was driven to the hospital by another person.

Johnson told police he gave a ride to an unknown person, and that's when he says the suspect stabbed him in the chest. He says he then lost control of the truck and slammed into the building.
