Santa Maria Police officers arrested two people on Wednesday in connection with a stolen vehicle pursuit.

The pursuit happened on Monday. Officers say they pursued a stolen vehicle, but stopped chasing the car once it became dangerous to other cars on the road. Police were still able to identify the driver as 35-year-old David De Los Santos of Santa Maria.

On Wednesday, officers say they saw De Los Santos walking around the 200 Block of North McClelland. After a short foot chase, De Los Santos was detained and booked for stolen vehicle and evading charges.

Police say 30-year-old Nipomo resident Renae Burpee was with De Los Santos at the time. She was also identified as a passenger in the stolen vehicle, and she had two outstanding felony warrants. Burpee was booked on her outstanding arrest warrants and for possession of stolen property.
