Santa Maria Police looking for man they say robbed Wal-Mart and assaulted employees

Santa Maria Police are looking for the man they say robbed a Wal-Mart and assaulted two of the store's employees.

It happened just before 6 p.m. Friday night at the department store on South Bradley Road.

Officials say a man stole merchandise from the store. When the store's loss prevention staff attempted to stop him, he used pepper spray on them.

The man left the store and went through a nearby parking lot.

He is described as a white male, 20 to 30 years old, between 5'8" and 5'11" tall, weighing between 150 and 170 pounds. Officials say he arrived at the store in a gold 1995 to 1998 Acura TL.
