Santa Maria police are searching for an armed robber they said held up a check cashing business Monday afternoon.
Police said a man with a gun demanded cash from employees at the Check Into Cash store at 230 East Betteravia Road about 2:40 p.m.
He left the scene in a vehicle with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police released a very limited description of the robber. They said he was about five feet, eight inches tall and weighs between 140-160 pounds. He wore a black hooded sweatshirt.
Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to Santa Maria police.
