The Boston Marathon Bombings may have happened far from home, but the Central Coast is still feeling the effects.
A Santa Maria man who was running in the Boston Marathon when the bombings occurred was stopped just five minutes short of the finish line. On Saturday, he finally got to finish the race.
Erich Gross decided to complete his marathon before the start of the Bull Canyon Run in Santa Maria Saturday morning.
Organizers set the clock to the exact time of the explosion and helped him finish the race.
"I'm just going to run about two or three tenths of a mile, just for what I missed in Boston," said Gross.
Gross also received his actual Boston Marathon medal at the end of his run.
