Santa Maria Salvation Army changes officers

The Salvation Army in Santa Maria is changing some of its commanding officers.

A ceremony was held Sunday morning in Santa Maria.

Lieutenants Paul and Jennifer Swain said farewell to the Central Coast.

"It's just been an amazing time, been blessed, and it's just been a real privilege to serve alongside a real servant spirited city," said Lieutenant Paul Swain.

The Swains received orders to move to the Salvation Army in Monterey.

Cadets Juan and Patty Torres will be installed as the new commanding officers next Sunday.

The Santa Maria Salvation Army offers a number of services to locals, including a free weekday hot lunch program and social service assistance.
