Santa Maria school gets a surprise

A Santa Maria school got quite a surprise on Thursday. We visited Mrs. Tammie Shiffer's classroom at Pioneer Valley High School.

It's all part of KSBY and Century 21 Hometown Realty's efforts to help teachers across the Central Coast "One Class at a Time."

That's where realtor Shea Hutchinson presented the class with a $250 check. The money will be used to purchase around 20 calculators for the students. Shiffer said, "I'm always harping on my students to do their homework so it's nice to give them the tools to do their homework. To be able take the calculators home so they can learn and we can reinforce the things they're doing here in the classroom."

To fill out an application for your class just go to the hot spot and click on your family.
