The Santa Maria Valley Humane Society just found a home for their 10,000th animal.
The special pet is a tan and brown terrier named Lulu.
A photo of Lulu was put on Facebook and shared by members of the Facebook community. The canine's new owners saw the photo of Lulu on the website and adopted him last week.
"We've been working very hard to expand the services we offer within our existing facility. We've become more efficient, and we've been working really hard to implement the best practices and get animals moving through faster," said Jill Tucker from the Santa Maria Valley Humane Society.
The Santa Maria Valley Humane Society has been open for almost 30 years.
