Santa Maria woman arrested in connection with armed robbery at CVS

Santa Maria Police arrested a woman in connection with an armed robbery at a CVS Pharmacy.

It happened around 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the CVS Pharmacy on the 2100 block of South Broadway.

Police say Tabitha Taft of Santa Maria went into the pharmacy multiple times to get some medication. Around 5:30 p.m., she entered the store again. This time, police say she showed people she had a knife.

Police say she went up to the pharmacy counter and assaulted an employee. According to reports, Taft held a knife up to the employee's neck and demanded her medication.

An employee and customer were able to disarm Taft and restrain her until police arrived at the scene. She was taken into custody without incident.

Taft was booked in the Santa Barbara County Jail, charged with robbery. Her bail is set at $50,000.
